Future Building and Site
In 1987 when Liberty was first started we purchased 8 acres of land on Gelden Road
near the intersection with Grass Lake Road. Our goal is to build a permanent facility
on this site which will be able to occupy by the spring of 2008. We are well into our
capital campaign and have raised about $200,000. If you would like to know more about
this effort simply ask any of our pastors about the BUILDING TO BETTER SERVE CAMPAIGN.
Current Status
Our new building will be bi-level (main floor plus walk-out basement), giving us a total of 11,500 total square feet. As of July 1, 2008 the building project plan has been submitted to the village of Lindenhurst from whom we await either approval or a request for plan revisions. We assume we will need to make some revisions and resubmit the plans as is normal in major building projects. We do know that we will not need to put in a turn lane ($100,000 savings), and that our wetlands are deemed low impact. Therefore we will not need to do a lot landscaping in order to build a retention pond for storm water run off. The fire marshall has determined that given a firewall with at least a 2 hour burn time we will not need a sprinkler system either ($100,000 savings). The total project cost is estimated at around $1,100,000, a 15% increase in costs due to the rising costs of material. However, we did receive a loan from State Bank of the Lakes in this amount, so the building is entirely financed.
