ICE - In Christ's Example
Headed by Erich and Jenny Olsen, ICE exists to meet the needs of the
older student groups who are looking for something "cool":
8th - 12th grade.ICE is uniquely structured to meet the needs of high schoolers for whom abstract, philosophical thinking and serious dating relationships are often the focus of attention. While our Sunday evening meetings are a more informal hang out designed to build relationships, our Sunday morning class is intended to seriously discuss the whys and hows of Christianity. Questions are dealt with in a frank yet mature manner to help prepare students for their future. Our summertime week of "Spiritual Boot Camp" challenges students to live radically unashamed lives for Jesus. We also encourage students to participate in occassional "short-term mission trips" which expand their view of the world. In 2006 we took a group of kids down to Louisiana and Mississippi to help with Hurrican Katrina relief efforts. In the summer of 2009 we will be taking a trip to Jamaica to do some manual labor on church buildings as well as lead a Vacation Bible School for Jamaican elementary children.
